This might seem a little off topic, but I promise, it is worth your time. As I have pointed out, I am a senior at Penn State University. For those of you who don't know or just live under a rock, the Nittany Lions took part in the best football game I have ever been apart of. The crowd of 107,844 was deafening in what might be the best college football game of the 2013 season, as the Lions defeated the Michigan Wolverines, 43 - 40, in a four overtime thriller.
My instantaneous reaction on social media:
Facebook: Time to reflect - Yesterday was the best moment I've ever had as a Penn State student. This is the kind of atmosphere that made me want to be a Stater when I was a kid. It was great seeing it again. As a senior, there is no place I rather be in the entire world, than sitting with my fellow Nittany Lions at an event that unites us as ONE. I'm so proud of our team and our university. My time as a student might be dwindling to a close, but yesterday will live on forever. It was truly amazing. Penn State, I love ya! WE ARE!
Twitter: What a freaking day! Speechless, literally. I'll reflect on it tomorrow. Where would I rather be? No where. #PennState
For me, it was the most surreal, yet unreal feeling. My reasoning for attending Penn State was the unbelievable atmospheres I was surrounded with when I attended games as a child. I really haven't seen anything like this since then, due to raised ticket prices and sanctions that tried to sink the football program. This, however, was truly special. What a way to experience your last White House game in Happy Valley as a senior? I know you are supposed to objective as a journalist, but what I felt during that game was, wow, something else. It has been two days since Beaver Stadium erupted, and I still haven't grasped the entirety of that moment. I know I should be throwing stats and numbers at you, but this, right here, is all heart. My time as a Nittany Lion is coming to an end, but all my feelings, anxieties, dreams, wishes, beliefs, horrors, fears and hopes culminated in what might be the best time I have ever had.
